  • First Grade – 1:1 iPads
  • Second Grade – 1:1 iPads with a shared cart of 25 Chromebooks for beginning keyboarding skills
  • Third Grade – 1:1 Chromebooks
  • Fourth Grade – 1:1 Chromebooks
  • Fifth Grade – 1:1 Chromebooks

Software…

Aurora Elementary School uses a wide variety of software to meet the students growing needs in the ever changing world of technology. Below is a list of some of the main programs in use by our students:

  • Lexia Learning – Kindergarten through 5th Grades – provides explicit, systematic, and structured practice on the essential reading skills of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. It is the only program to advance foundational reading development for students of all abilities, pre-K through grade 4, and accelerate reading development for at-risk students in grades 4–12. (Click here to learn more….)

In 2011 Aurora Public Schools incorporated the use of Google Docs for our staff, as well as the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students for active online collaborating of projects and communication. Google Docs incorporates word processing, keyboarding, design element skills, and more!

In addition Aurora Elementary utilizes a variety of other software and applications, including those specific to classroom curriculums such as Social Studies, Science, and Math. Each grade has a list of favorite websites they use for certain projects or focus areas.
